Spectacular vistas, rich ancient history and culture, intriguing local cuisine, and capable local motorcycles make the Himalayas an ideal adventure destination. Here, a different world reveals itself as you ride your bike through mind-boggling scenery of snow-capped mountain peaks, ancient Buddhist temples, and otherworldly valleys.

Ladakh’s and western Himalayan rough terrain is legendary for the challenges and thrill it poses to mountain bikers, serious cyclists and adventure lovers. The dusty roads curling around massive mountains and stretching into oblivion lure motor biking enthusiasts from all across the world. It is a very rewarding experience for amateurs and experts alike. Picturesque villages nestled in the beautiful and bare Himalayan ranges welcome travelers along their journey. Smiling weather beaten faces appear in doorways inviting you in for tea. Buddhist monasteries (gonpas) give a magical feel to the landscape in their splendid isolation. Buddhist prayer flags fluttering atop houses, passes and monasteries spread their mystical chants into the Himalayan atmosphere. ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ is engraved on stones covering monasteries, marking high passes and entrances.
Chortens signifying Buddha’s mind dot the barren background. Frozen Himalayas have tailor-made and regular travel packages for clients. This morning we will get your motorcycles, you can take it for a spin.Today it will be a quick dip into Tibetan Buddhism and monastic life in the high Himalayan monastery. Post breakfast we will ride towards shanti stupa and from shanti stupa we will go to Tsemo monastery, from there we will go to Shey Palace and Thiksey monastery. It’s a beautiful stretch of unwinding roads and you will love it. Rest of the day is free to explore the city and get acclimatized to the altitude. Overnight stay in Guest House.
After breakfast ride towards Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). The views are great, have the proverbial bowl of maggi noodles at the tea shop, or sip butter tea and enjoy the views of the Shyok Valley. Beyond Khardungla is the Nubra Valley .After a short tea break drive to Turtuk. Turtuk is the northernmost village in India situated in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir located in the Nubra tehsil, 205 km from the district headquarter Leh, on the banks of the Shyok River.It is the only Balti region under the Indian administration and was under Pakistan’s control until 1971 after which India gained control over this strategic area.Geographically, Turtuk lies in the Baltistan Region and is one among four such villages in India, the other three being Tyakshi, Chalunkha and Thang.
The residents of Turtuk and its adjoining villages speak Balti language along with Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost of India at Thang after which Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan begins. Turtuk is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier.Turtuk is very famous for the availability of different varieties of fruits especially apricots. Overnight in a beautiful family run guest
After an early breakfast you can go and visit the village. Today we will ride Turtuk to Hundar, where one could stay at Hundar which has a decidedly Central Asian flavor with white dunes and double humped Bactrian camels. Check in and rest of the day one is free to explore the village, camel ride, sand dunes and cultural performances by local artists. Overnight Swiss tents with an attached bath.
After an early breakfast we ride. In spite of the altitude, today you ride on the smoothest roads so far and the landscape also becomes grand once you approach Warila pass, Today we will ride from an extremely adventurous and isolated roads, with wild yaks and horses grazing along the road while approaching the top after celebrating at the pass, you descend into Leh. Day at leisure and maintenance of motorcycles before the long ride Today you take a breather from the grueling ride you have had. You can have a lazy morning, go explore the restaurants and the market, pick up some souvenirs. In the evening go to Tsemo gompa for the spectacular sunset. Overnight Guest House.
After Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake 14,500 ft, via kaharu. Arrive at pangong by lunch, one can enjoy lunch at spangmik village of pangong. After appreciating the beauty of the lake, we will go and visit the camping area where you will spend the night at pangong. Overnight High Lake camp.
The weather Leh will be pleasant, warmer temperature with good sunshine. Temperatures hover Around+2 to +28 °C, the days will be warm, but during the evening, it cools down and becomes quite pleasant. You will need to keep yourself very well hydrated at all times, please only drink bottled mineral water, (check to ensure the seal is intact). A cool box will be provided in your vehicle and it will be stocked up with bottles of mineral water for the day.
What to wear At the risk of stating the obvious here are a few tips: Shoes that can be slipped on and off easily are also very useful as they must always be removed at all religious sites. For general day wear, we recommend light cottons and loose clothing, with jumpers or fleeces and sturdy shoes for those travelling to Pangong and Nubra . In many hotels, restaurants, the air conditioning can be rather chilly. A light jumper or pashmina is very handy in these situations. You will certainly need a light shawl/jacket for the lake and Passes. Do carry good walking shoes for trekking. Please cover yourself properly when visiting the monasteries and avoid talking selfies with the Buddha statue. Please carry adequate sunscreen and a cooling lotion which could be Aloe Vera based. Wet wipes, hats, sunglasses with a with a high UV protection factor will help you cope with the sun.
Do bring Personal medication to cover you for stomach ailments, car sickness, minor cuts & bruises,sprains and rashes/allergies, mosquito bites. Any other medication prescribed by your doctor. Toilet paper during the road trip. Comfortable shoes for trekking & walking around the city. Please bring intimate wipes (lingettes intimes) for when you need to use public toilets. Comfort & Eating Out Please remember you could give special instructions asking for less spicy food. If you are allergic to any specific foods, please let us know well in advance so we can tell you what kind of foods to avoid. Please be careful to have food in small quantities, always cooked fresh and served hot as your stomachs may not be used to the spices and the oil in which they are made. When ordering cool drinks, please insist that no ice is used in the glass. Bottles of water and drinks must have unbroken seals when purchased. We recommend raffling of your bottles.
